Anthropic has rolled out major updates to its Claude Cowork platform, introducing private plugin marketplaces, deeper integrations, and enhanced workflow controls for enterprise teams.

The update, announced on February 24, 2026, aims to help organisations move from fragmented AI usage to standardised, auditable workflows at scale.

What’s New: Private Plugin Marketplaces

A key feature is the ability for enterprises to create private plugin marketplaces tailored to internal needs.

This allows IT administrators to:

  • Curate approved tools for different departments
  • Control plugin visibility (auto-install, optional, or hidden)
  • Enforce standardised workflows across teams

These marketplaces act as controlled environments where employees access only sanctioned AI tools, reducing risks and improving consistency.

Unified Control With Customise Menu

Anthropic has introduced a centralised Customise menu that brings together:

  • Plugins
  • Skills
  • Connectors

This unified interface enables easier governance, configuration, and monitoring of AI usage across departments.

Additionally, support for OpenTelemetry provides visibility into:

  • Usage patterns
  • Costs
  • Tool activity

This addresses a key enterprise requirement—operational transparency in AI deployments.

Expanding Ecosystem: Plugins and Connectors

Claude Cowork now integrates with a wide range of enterprise tools, including:

  • Google Workspace (Drive, Gmail, Calendar)
  • DocuSign
  • WordPress
  • Platforms like Similarweb, FactSet, and LegalZoom for research and compliance

It also supports partner-built plugins from:

  • Salesforce (Slack)
  • London Stock Exchange Group
  • S&P Global

These integrations allow teams to embed AI directly into existing business workflows.

Cross-App Workflows: From Data to Presentation

One of the more advanced capabilities is cross-application context sharing.

Claude can:

  • Analyse data in Excel
  • Automatically generate presentations in PowerPoint

This reduces context switching and enables end-to-end task automation, though the feature is currently in research preview.

Availability and Limitations

Cowork remains in research preview and is available on paid plans across macOS and Windows (x64 only).

However, there are important caveats:

  • Activity is not yet included in audit logs or compliance APIs
  • Conversation history is stored locally on user devices
  • OpenTelemetry does not replace full compliance logging

Anthropic advises enterprises—especially in regulated sectors—to run controlled pilots before full deployment.

Leadership and Strategy

The expansion is part of Anthropic’s broader enterprise push under CEO Dario Amodei.

The company positions Cowork as a layer on top of existing software ecosystems, rather than a replacement.

Co-founder Daniela Amodei has also emphasised responsible AI deployment, noting that more safeguards will be added as agent-based systems evolve.

IndyaStory Take

Anthropic’s move signals a shift from experimental AI usage to governed, enterprise-grade deployment. By introducing private marketplaces and workflow standardisation, the company is addressing one of the biggest barriers to AI adoption: control.

As enterprises look to scale AI safely, platforms like Cowork could become central to how organisations operationalise intelligence across teams.
