AutIQ News Desk: Jawa has showcased the dramatic 1000 Sport Cruiser Concept, a motorcycle that signals a bold new direction for the iconic brand. Revealed at the Brno Motorcycle Show in the Czech Republic, the concept blends classic cruiser styling with high-performance engineering and premium hardware.
Designed by renowned Czech designer Jan Hrbek, who also worked on the recently unveiled Jawa 730 Twin, the 1000 Sport Cruiser stands apart from the company’s current lineup with its muscular stance, aggressive proportions and modern interpretation of Jawa’s heritage-inspired design language.
Powerful 999cc Parallel-Twin Engine
At the heart of the concept is a 999cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, reportedly developed in the Czech Republic. According to available specifications, the engine produces:
- 113hp
- 95Nm of torque
- Top speed of 215kph
The motorcycle is said to weigh around 240kg and features a relatively accessible 795mm seat height, making it suitable for a wide range of riders despite its performance credentials.
Premium Chassis and Suspension Package
The Jawa 1000 Sport Cruiser concept is believed to use a strengthened version of the chassis architecture found on the Jawa 730 Twin. The frame has reportedly been upgraded to handle the additional power and torque of the larger engine.
The motorcycle features premium cycle parts, including:
- Fully adjustable Ohlins USD front fork
- Twin Ohlins rear shock absorbers
- Lightweight OZ Racing wheels
- High-performance Brembo Stylema brake calipers
- Premium LeoVince exhaust system
These components place the concept firmly in the premium motorcycle segment and highlight Jawa’s focus on delivering both performance and exclusivity.
Modern Cruiser Design
Visually, the 1000 Sport Cruiser presents a distinctive identity. The low-slung cruiser silhouette is complemented by modern bodywork, sculpted fuel tank surfaces and a performance-oriented riding stance.
Unlike traditional cruisers that focus primarily on relaxed touring, the concept appears to blend cruiser comfort with sport motorcycle dynamics, creating a unique niche within the premium motorcycle market.
Extremely Limited Production Expected
Industry reports suggest the motorcycle remains in the prototype stage, although it is believed to be very close to production specification.
While Jawa has not officially confirmed production numbers, reports indicate that only 10 to 15 units could be built, making it one of the most exclusive motorcycles ever associated with the brand.
The project is also rumored to involve collaboration with Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Jedi Motor, though no official confirmation has been provided.
Expected Price
If production moves forward, the Jawa 1000 Sport Cruiser could carry a price tag of approximately €62,000 (around Rs 68 lakh), positioning it as a collector-focused limited-edition motorcycle rather than a mass-market offering.
Could It Come to India?
There is currently no official confirmation regarding an India launch. However, with Jawa continuing to expand its global presence and premium motorcycle portfolio, enthusiasts will be watching closely for future developments.
The 1000 Sport Cruiser concept demonstrates that Jawa is willing to explore new segments and push beyond its traditional retro-focused offerings. If it reaches production in its current form, it could become one of the most exclusive and technically advanced motorcycles ever to wear the Jawa badge.
